Optolite™ Laminated Windows

Download Product Datasheet >

Instrument Plastics are pleased to announce a new range of Optical Laminated Filter windows in addition to our existing variety of cast Optolite HSR, Shielded, EMC/RFI Infrared and Polarised windows.

Substrates
Fully laminated window options are available in :-

  • Glass
  • Polycarbonate
  • Acrylic
  • Optolite HSR
  • Polarising Filter
  • Privacy Filter

All the above are available with laminations of Optolite Superfine conductive meshes or AgHT Conductive Film for shielding EMC/RFI and infrared reflection.

Glass
Shielded EMC/RFI windows can be offered in an extensive range of laminated glass to customer requirements.

Non-Reflective
A non-glare etched surface – a good cost effective solution.

Anti-Reflective (MLAR) Coatings
Reducing the reflectance of plain gloss by 9 times.

EMI ITO Coated Glass
Highly visible light transmission, ideal EMC/RFI shielding when lower shielding levels are required.

Polycarbonate
Offers high impact strength with excellent flammability ratings. Available with non-glare and anti-reflective coatings, EMC/RFI shielded mesh and coloured interlayers.

Laminated Filter

A laminated filter such as an infrared acrylic optical filter is suitable for use with high levels of radiation. This type of laminated filter increases the signal-to-noise ratio, typically used in security systems with features of the laminated filter including a non-glare finish.

A laminated filter reduces reflections by incorporating polarising filters and also non-polarising filters such as those used with the laminated filter in electronic displays. A laminated filter can be constructed to specific client specifications; clients wanting a bespoke laminated filter typically come from the aerospace industry, and other industries including science, defence, electronics and photography.

A laminated filter produces an amazing combination of light and colour transmission, with low electrical resistance. The laminated filter transfers light while reflecting infra red heat. Typical uses of a laminated filter are film projector lamps, theatrical lights and certain types of window.

Woven metal meshes create the laminated filter and the mesh can either be incorporated in the laminated filter or supplied separately. The laminated filter can include an acrylic filter that is structured especially for the laminated filter. Applications for a laminated filter include security systems and remote controls.
